Resource Clips

Resource Clips are the clips that control when a resource is activated and deactivated during a slide's timeline. They live on Resource Tracks, which are created and managed automatically by the Presentation System.

You do not, and can not, add or remove resource clips manually. They are created when a Resource Span is added in the Deck Panel, and removed when the span is removed.

Activation and Deactivation Clips

Each Resource Span produces two clips:

  • Activation Clip - placed on the start slide of the span. Activates the resource when the playhead reaches it.
  • Deactivation Clip - placed on the end slide of the span. Deactivates the resource when the playhead reaches it.

If a span covers only a single slide, a Activation Deactivation Clip is created instead.

Editing Timing

Although resource clips are managed automatically, their position and duration on the timeline are fully editable - you can move and resize them just like any other clip. Resource clips also support Blend In and Blend Out.

  • Activation Clip - You can edit the start time and blend in.
  • Deactivation Clip - You can edit the end time and blend out.
  • Activation Deactivation Clip - You can edit both the start and end time as well as the blend in & out.

This lets you control exactly when within a slide the resource fades in or out, independent of when the slide starts.

See Clips for how to move and resize clips.

Resource Track Restrictions

Resource Tracks are locked. You cannot:

  • Manually add or remove clips on a Resource Track.
  • Remove a Resource Track directly.
  • Reorder a Resource Track relative to other tracks.

To remove a resource clip, remove the corresponding Resource Span from the Deck Panel. See Resource Spans.
